Message from the Dean

Dear Students,

Welcome to the 2023-24 academic year! I am delighted that you have chosen to pursue your studies at the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design. I look forward to getting to know you better over the coming weeks and months.

During your time at the Daniels Faculty, you will not only be receiving a broad undergraduate education that equips you to think and to solve problems through art and design, but also be joining one of the continent’s biggest and most diverse design institutions. Our faculty members are among the world’s foremost experts in the fields of art, architecture, landscape architecture, urban design and forestry. And you will be learning from them in the heart of Toronto, one of North America’s greenest and most cosmopolitan cities.

As well as enjoying a world-class education, you will have access as Daniels Faculty students to a wealth of public programming offered here on our campus. From regularly staged lectures by notable practitioners and scholars to dynamic exhibitions in our various galleries, these offerings are open to all, free of charge and a great way to both fire your imaginations and connect with the wider design world. I encourage you to take part in as many of them as you can.

In this calendar, you will find much of the information you’ll need to navigate your academic lives as Daniels Faculty undergrads, including degree requirements, programs of study, rules and regulations, and more. If you have any questions, please contact our Office of the Registrar and Student Services, where our professional staff is at the ready to assist you.

I very much look forward to our coming year together.

Best regards,

Juan Du, Dean
